Rod Burkert

In one way, shape, or form Rod has been performing business valuations since the late 1980s. In July 2000, Rod started Burkert Valuation Advisors in Philadelphia where he ran a "traditional” valuation practice for 10 years.

From 2010 to 2022 (12 years!), Rod traveled full-time throughout the US and Canada in an RV with his wife and dogs. When he saw the possibilities of a location-independent BVFLS practice, he started rbCOACHING to help others transform their firms.

Today, Rod is settled in Bisbee (for now!), AZ and focuses on his practice building coaching and this Transitions matchmaking service.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are you doing this?

We want to help BVFLS practitioners like you start the process of a smooth transition of firm ownership or talent – whether you are selling your practice or buying someone else’s. Our objective is to help you find the path and partner that suits your goals.

What do you do?

We are matchmakers for Sellers and Buyers of BVFLS firms and practices, acting as an intermediary to provide introductions to professionals on the other side of your table.

What don’t you do?

We don’t perform practice valuations (as odd as that may sound!), conduct due diligence, or represent you in negotiations along the way.

Why should I work with you?

Frankly, there is no place else to find the necessary party/partner confidentially and efficiently on the other side of your table. We saw this gap in the BVFLS world and filled it.

I’m a Seller – how does your listing service work?

First, create an account with us here. We will then email you our standard Seller Agreement.

When you have executed and returned the Seller Agreement, we will provide our confidential listing form. The form will ask for just four pieces of information regarding your firm: State Location, LTM $ Revenue, Current # Employees/Contractors, and Primary Type of BVFLS Work Performed.

When you submit the form, we will assign your listing a unique identifier and push it live on the BVFLS Transitions website. Note that your and your firm’s identities are confidential and will not be disclosed on the website.

If a Buyer is interested in your listing, they will click its “I’m interested!” button. This creates a Calendly link to schedule a discovery call with John Schlegel. If the Buyer wants to progress to the next step, John will contact you.

If you want to proceed with that Buyer, John will make a mutual introduction. From there, you and the Buyer decide whether and how to move forward.
